Tasty Tapas in Spain…..
Candice Curtis is in Marbella centre at the Feria for Tapas, called ´Marbella de Tapas´. This is an annual competition to find the best tapa dish. The feria is held on the street Avenida del Mar which has Salvador Dali statues placed all the way down until it reaches the Paseo Maritimo. Candice explores the crowds finding out what the people of Marbella are favouring and what tapa dishes they are choosing to eat. Paella the ´Caviar of Spain´ is a dish that has rice, saffron, fish, chicken, meat, peppers and peas. Many people like paella with a squeeze of lemon added. Other dishes like Ensalada Rusa that has potatoes, mayonnaise, tuna, and peas are creamier. Some tapas have black rice which is dyed by squid ink! If you enjoy some good pork Spain is renowned for its Jamon Serrano – cured ham All of the tapas are served with some bread and you can wash it down with some beer if you so choose. See what dish Candice tastes and hear what the famous Spanish chief Dani Garcia, (2 Michelin stars) who is a judge for this years Marbella de Tapas, thinks of the competition for 2008. |
