But Puente Romano Hotel is home to a Roman bridge, once part of the Via Augusta joining Cadiz to Rome and you can’t get a more historic luxury hotel in Marbella than that.
This is also one of the Costa del Sol’s most historic hotels when it comes to visitors – guests at this luxury Marbella hotel have included Elizabeth Taylor, Ray Charles and Sean Connery.
Puente Romano Hotel offers on-site shops, banks and medical attention as well as as one of the best beach clubs in on the Costa del Sol.
Originally a condominium hotel, Puerte Romano Hotel consists of 27 buildings, all situated alongside tropical gardens which run from the Golden Mile down to the beach. The three-storey buildings are cubic-shaped with touches of Moorish architecture and wooden beams and white walls predominate.
All Puente Romano’s 285 rooms and suites have recently been refurbished and include the extras you would expect to find in a hotel with a five star rating in Marbella. All rooms have private terraces, most of which overlook the hotel’s gardens. These contain over 400 botannical species centred round numerous water features – fountains, lakes and waterfalls – that join under the Roman bridge on the sea front. Two of the hotel’s three pools are heated and then there’s always the Mediterranean.
Puente Romano offers luxury hotel accommodation in Marbella for those looking for a quiet beachfront location. The hotel’s size means the restaurants and bars can be crowded, but the 27 individual buildings mean you can get away from it all in the privacy of your own balcony.
