Puerto Banus Guide

Puerto Banus was opened in May 1970 by the developer José Banus. Situated only 5km to the east of one of the Costa del Sol’s largest beach resorts, Marbella, Puerto Banus has become one of the most famous ports in Europe. Synonymous with wealth, extravagant parties, high fashion and glitz, Puerto Banus attracts tourists and celebrities.

The focal point of Puerto Banus is, of course, its port, which has berths for 915 boats, including those belonging to world's wealthiest individuals. The ostentation of the boats is only matched by that of the cars and the designer clothing. This beach resort on the Costa del Sol is all about bling.

For those on holiday in Spain with emptier wallets, Puerto Banus still has a lot to offer and a visit to the port is one of the top things to do on the Costa del Sol. Take a stroll around the marina, drink or dine in one of the many bars and restaurants. As one of the liveliest beach resorts on the Costa del Sol, Puerto Banus has a good share of beach clubs. Try Plaza Beach, Buda Beach, Mistral, Azúcar Beach, Soul Beach, the Ocean Club... There’s also a good choice of night life in Puerto Banus – Suite, Olivia Valère. But whatever you do at this resort on the Costa del Sol, make sure you’ve got your credit card!
