Have fun at Bounty Beach in Marbella

One of the great things about the southern Spain coastline, is that no matter where you are, even in the middle of a bustling town or city like Marbella, you are never more than five or ten minutes walk away from a great beach. Marbella is an excellent example of this, with several beaches just a stone’s throw from the town centre. Arguably the best, is Bounty Beach, where a young trendy (but well-behaved) crowd come to take part in water sports like surf-boarding, kite-surfing, or just having fun with jet skis. Back on land, Bounty Beach is a playground for beach volleyball, or for those who want to be less energetic, there’s plenty of space to relax on a sun bed and take in the rays, or alternatively just relax in the shade.

There are some cool beach bars in Marbella too (known locally as chiringuitos) where you can hang out, take in the atmosphere and watch the world go by. The food and drink is good too, and generally not as expensive as some of the eateries in the centre of town. Tapas and paella are the order of the day. The atmosphere is completed with some chilled-out music, provided by resident and guest DJs. Often during summer, special beach parties are organised here on Sundays, making the weekend last just that little bit longer! In the evenings, the Marbella beach music is notched up a bit higher and the bars are open until the wee hours.

Bounty Beach is easy to find – as you head towards the town of Marbella by car, you’ll come across the huge famous Marbella arch, and drive underneath. From there, just head to the sea to Playa del Cable. The beach is regularly cleaned and has a gentle incline into the sea. And with hot Marbella summers and mild winters, this area of southern Spain continues to attract sun-worshippers. In fact, the average yearly temperature in Marbella is just over 20 degrees Celsius (that’s nearly 70 degrees Fahrenheit)...beach bliss!
