Situated in the south on the Atlantic and Mediterranean, Andalucia is the second largest region in Spain. There are eight very different provinces and Seville is the capital. Main international airports are at Seville and Malaga, the largest.

More than 8.3 million people live in Andalucia. The weather varies from one area to another, but most of Andalucia enjoys year-round sunshine and little rain.

Of all the regions in Spain, Andalucia has the richer culture and the strongest cultural identity. Flamenco and bullfighting – those big Spanish stereotypes – both have their roots here.

Landscapes:
Nearly 30 million visitors a year visit Andalucia, a land of a thousand landscapes. With its miles of beaches, spectacular mountains, long rivers and rolling hills, Andalucia is a tourist magnet. The Costa del Sol is the biggest pull for visitors, followed by Sierra Nevada, the Costa de la Luz and the Costa Tropical.

Cities of Andalucia:
The historic cities of Granada, Seville and Cordoba are all popular city-break locations. Their monuments, museums and typically Andalucian ambience mean there’s plenty to see and do.

Whitewashed Villages:
Andalucia is also famous for its white villages, characterised by whitewashed houses with typical patios and terraces set in narrow streets.

With its sunshine, history, landscapes and friendly welcome, Andalucia is one of the most visited places in Spain.
